Spring is almost here! The East Haddam Municipal Tennis and Pickleball Courts will open April 1st.

18+ Pick-up Basketball: Monday 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., April 7, 14, 21, 28. $16 for session or $5 drop-in. Municipal Gym.

30+ Pick-up Basketball: Sunday 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., April 6, 13, 27 (No Apr. 20). $12 for session or $5 drop-in. East Haddam Elementary Gym.

16+ Volleyball: Tuesday 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. April  1, 8, 15, 22, 29. $20 for session or $5 drop-in. Municipal Gym.

16+ Open Gym Soccer: Monday 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.  April 7, 14, 21, 28. $16 session. $5 Drop-in. Municipal Gym.

Youth Spring Soccer: Pre K - Grade 6. Pre-K (Age 4) - K: Soccer skills and drills with CAS Coaches. Saturdays, April 26 - June 7, 2:00 - 2:55 p.m. $70. Grades 1 - 6: Two days of soccer fun! Saturdays, April 26 - June 7, Grades 1 - 2: 3:00 - 3:55 p.m. Grades 3 - 6: 4:00 - 4:55 p.m. Tuesday Games, April 29 - June 3, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. $85. Registration Deadline April 6.

Boot Camp: Ages 16+. Boot Camp Fitness offers custom small group training sessions offered by a Certified Personal Trainer.  Our sessions focus on exercises and functional training.  A 60-minute workout with a 15-minute ending stretch will improve your core strength and balance. March 11 - May 1. 1x/week $64, 2x/week $96, or $10 drop-in. Classes will be held in the Old Town Hall on Town Street on Tuesday, 6:00 - 7:15 p.m. and Municipal Gym on Thursday, 5:45 - 7:00 p.m.

Gentle Yoga: This class is appropriate for all levels of fitness or yoga experience. Ages 16 and up. Improve your strength and flexibility while decreasing stress. Enjoy moving your body and breathing mindfully! Sunday: April 13 - May 25 (No Apr. 20). 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Senior Center. Wednesday: April 16 - May 21. 6:30-7:30 p.m. $60 for each 6 week session or $15 for a single class. 

18+ Pickleball Sessions: Monday, April 7, 14, 21, 28. 9:30 -11:30 a.m. - Intermediate. Tuesday, April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29. 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.- Intermediate/Advanced.  Wednesday, April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30. 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Beginner/ Intermediate; 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. - Intermediate, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. - Advanced. Friday, April 4, 11, 25 (No Apr. 18). 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Intermediate/Advanced;  5:30 - 7:30 p.m.- Open to all levels. Register on-line for sessions, $60 Pickleball Club Card, or $8 drop-in. Municipal Gym.

Pickleball Bootcamp Clinic: Saturday April 5 & Sunday April 6. 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Municipal Gym, $40 for session. 2-day weekend clinic for players new to the game. This fun-filled, active session will provide participants with multiple resources & on-court experiences to safely learn basic rules, skills, and strategies. Proper skill mechanics, footwork, and balance for greater success and safety during play.  Wear court sneakers, comfortable clothing, and bring a water bottle.

American Red Cross Babysitter Class:   Must be at least 11 years old to take the class. Participants will learn basic skills needed to be a safe babysitter. Attendees will receive a certificate if they complete the entire class and demonstrate skills to the instructor. Ages 11 - 18. April 7, 21, 28, 5:30 - 7:15 p.m. Parks & Rec Activity Room, Municipal Building. Cost $60.

Food Explorers: Grades 4-5. Each week you’ll make a dessert devoted to fabulous fruits! You’ll be making: Strawberry Lemonade Pies, Carrot Cake Donuts, Chocolate Banana Cupcakes, and Raspberry Vanilla Whoopie Pies. All recipes are nut-free but may contain dairy, eggs, and gluten. Wednesdays, April 23 - May 14. 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. East Haddam Elementary School. Cost $84.

Home School Family Open Gym: Open gym offers a safe place for homeschool families to get together, burn off some energy, and have fun! Bring your family and sports/game equipment to the Municipal Gym. Parks & Rec equipment is available upon request. Suitable for all ages.Tuesday, April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29. 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Registration required. $5 per family.

Stop the Bleed Course: This is a FREE 60-90 minute class presented by STOP THE BLEED, American College of Surgeons. Learn how to stop bleeding until the First Responders arrive.Third Monday of every month. Next class is April 21, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Municipal Building, Meeting Room 3.

Safe Boating Course: Successful completion of the class qualifies a person to purchase their Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation (CPWO) for $50 on the Online Sportsmen Licensing System. Visit our website for additional details. Tuesday April 29 & Wednesday April 30 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Ages: 12+ Municipal Office Complex Fee: $25 Registration deadline: April 22.
