Mad Science  Energy, Forces, Flight for Grades 1-3In this exciting after school series, student explore inertia, gravity and centripetal force! They will learn about tension and compression as we experiment to see what the strongest shapes are. Children will learn humans aren't the only ones who build things-robots can too...once we build them! We will also learn through play about potential and kinetic energy. 3:15 PM - 4:45 PM    Play-Well Teknologies Engineering with Lego Materials - Spring Into STEM with LEGO Materials for Grades K-3
Spring into Stem: Grades K-3. Celebrate the coming of Spring with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build chirping birds, design blooming flowers, and take a ride on a paddle boat. Design and build as never before and explore the craziest ideas.  Wednesday, April 24-May 29. 3:15-4:45 p.m. May 15 (Early Dismissal) 1:15-2:45 p.m. East Haddam Elementary School. Pokemon Engineering: Grades K-2. Calling all Pokémon trainers! With the Pokémon Championship approaching, join our enthusiastic Play-Well Instructors as we build and catch our favorite Pokémon, rescue Pikachu from Team Rocket, take a ride on the S.S. Anne to uncover rare and mystic Pokémon, and battle to see who will hold the title of Pokémon Master. Come along on our journey to catch 'em all!! July 1-3, 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. Municipal Gym. Pokemon Master Engineering: Grades 3-5. LEGO® Master, I choose you!! In the race to be crowned the Ultimate Pokémon Champion, we need your help! Learn to build your favorite Pokémon, level up by teaching them special moves, evolve them into more powerful versions, and come face to face with the current champion in an epic battle for the title. Learn from our Play-Well Pokémon Masters so you can make it to the top! July 1-3, 1:00-4:00p.m. Municipal Gym. Transportation Engineering: Grades K-2. Break the sound barrier on a supersonic jet, deliver cargo by train, and explore a swamp in your airboat. Build and create different modes of transportation out of more than 20,000 pieces of LEGO®, all while learning about the engineering concepts that make vehicles and vessels work. August 19-23, 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. Municipal Gym. MARVELous Engineering: Grades 3-5. LEGO® Builders Assemble! We need you to come join our experienced Play-Well Instructors to save the world. We will use LEGO® to build our strongest Avengers to defeat Thanos, help Thor retrieve Mjolnir, swing through the city with Spider-man, and tell Hulk to....Smash! Our journey will take us to battles on this world and beyond; are you up to the challenge? August 19-23, 1:00-4:00p.m. Municipal Gym.

3:15 PM - 4:15 PM    Abrakadoodle Art Camps - Abrakadoodle Dreamy Art for Grades K-3
Kick, Catch, Splash: Ages 6-10. Kickstart your summer, catch your arty tools and join us to make a splash! Learn about athletes who are artists and have striking artwork. Design whimsical basketball courts that invite us to make up our own games. Be inspired by artistic swimmers whose choreography creates geometric designs. Paint silhouettes of skateboarders doing tricks! Create visual effects that show the teamwork of an equestrian and their horse jumping over an obstacle. Design fashion sneakers, Olympic medals and gymnast sculptures while you learn sports can be a form of art! July 1-3, 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m and/or 1:00-4:00p.m. Let's Go Camping: Ages 3-5.Have camping fun without leaving the art room! This camp takes us to an imaginary world where we will hike, build a campfire, create a nature tapestry and learn about wild animals. We will learn all about camp-ing by mapping our campground, design-ing our own camping trailer and “collecting” bugs in a jar. We’ll explore painting, printing, collage, nature tapestry and other art media. July 29-August 2, 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. World Travel 3-D Art: Ages 6-10. Travel with us on this creative journey and change the way you see the world! Create 3D masterpieces inspired by world cultures. Learn about Chinese ceramics, Croatian “licitar” hearts, Maori design carvings from New Zealand, “nicho” boxes from Mexico and much more. Create art using a variety of materials, play games and understand that through art we can connect with people from all over the world. August 5-9, 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. Extreme STEAM Art: Ages 6-10.Climb aboard this creative experience to become a 21 st -century innovator! In this camp, You will translate Science, Tech-nology, Engineering and Math concepts into Art creations. Using a variety of art techniques, we will make a flying machine like Da Vinci, design a rocket ship, and create an aerial view drone map and much more. Challenge your imagina-tion and creativity and become an EX-TREME artist while you play games, make new friends and have extreme fun! August 5-9, 1:00-4:00p.m.
