Exploring food encourages children to learn through sensory experiences, hands-on activities and working together to create delicious results. Children will have the freedom to explore thanks to our unique "food neutral" approach to teaching about food. Our unique Food Neutral approach to our classes allows children to explore and eat foods without a side of guilt. Our goal is to help children develop a positive relationship with food.
Four Week Program
For each week of the program, students will learn about each of the five sections of MyPlate. Each week, they will focus on cooking a recipe made with ingredients from the corresponding food group.
Food Explorers for Grades 4&5
Each week you will make a dessert inspired by favorite holiday flavors and foods. You will be making: Chocolate Orange Brownie Bites, Tiramisu Pies, Gingerbread Mini Donuts, Biscoff Banana Trifles. All recipes are nut-free but may contain dairy, eggs, and gluten.
